Melissa Erekson is the Executive Director of Corporate, Foundation, and Research Relations at Tulane University. She has over 12 years of experience in university advancement, and leads a staff of nine that serves all of the schools, colleges and institutes at Tulane – including professional schools of medicine, architecture, law, business and social work, in addition to schools of science and engineering, public health, and liberal arts.  She has been a member of the Advancement team at Tulane since 2004, serving in a variety of roles including development writer and corporate and foundation relations officer.

Melissa holds a BA in International Relations and Spanish Studies from Tufts University and an MBA in International Marketing from the FW Olin School of Business at Babson College. She began her career in international education, living abroad while teaching English and starting up an exchange program in Madrid. She came back to the US in 1995 to become the founding director of the Boston Academy of English, bringing adults from all over the world to study English in her hometown while managing a staff of over 50 administrators and teachers.
