The National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign engages international companies directly, as the largest industrial high-performance computing (HPC) program in the world, and through collaborations with other international supercomputing centers (ISCs). These ISCs have regional engagement relationships and opportunities with companies and collaborate with the NCSA Industry team to help design and develop solutions that result in innovations and ROI in modeling and simulation, bioinformatics, data analytics, visualization, and cybersecurity. One such example is NCSA’s multi-level collaboration with the Cyprus Institute, located in the Eastern Mediterranean with reach to many other countries in the region. From shipping to oil & gas to healthcare and finance, domain expertise can be pooled among partners to deliver real solutions to grand challenges.
