Sara is the director of three key programs for Avaya: Corporate Responsibility, Environment, Health and Safety and Philanthropy. In her role, she leads a company-wide, cross-functional team of managers and practitioners in growing a comprehensive social responsibility program. She has over twenty-five years of rich experience at integrating regulatory and customer requirements into the operations of a variety of businesses, manufacturers, utilities and academia. The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program that Sara developed at Seagate Technology was recognized by the Corporate Responsibility Officer Magazine in 2008. She is the former Vice Chair of the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition and was the United Nations Global Compact representative for the United States for two consecutive years. She was recently a speaker at the United Nations Environmental Programme meeting this past June in Nairobi, Kenya. Sara is the proud mom of two daughters: a PhD candidate at the University of Cape Town and an International Student Coordinator in Sydney. As an acknowledged Sustainability leader in Silicon Valley, Sara believes that shifting culture can be a key driver for both technology innovation and corporate responsibility.
