I have been a member of NACRO since 2009, participating on committees and attending all mid-winter meetings and annual conferences through the years. I have served on the conference planning committee, the benchmarking committee (most recently as chair), and contributed to the development of the last two white papers on metrics and industry research center development. Most importantly, I have benefitted greatly from the colleagues who I met through committee work and conferences, and the problems and issues I have worked through in conversations with other NACRO members. As co-president, I would like to find new ways to support the work of our committees for efficient and effective outcomes.
As Director of Corporate Relations at UC Davis, I lead a team of key coordinators between the business community and the University to build comprehensive partnerships of mutual benefit. Through this role, I develop and manage corporate partnership opportunities and match University assets to the needs of industry. The office I manage, reports to the Office of Research, and serves as a UC Davis-wide resource, working with academic and administrative leadership, faculty, staff, development officers and others to advance UC Davis' priorities through increased investment from corporations. Prior to becoming Director of Corporate Relations for the campus, I led Industry Research Alliances within the technology transfer group of the campus, where I worked to mobilize the campus academic resources and technology innovation assets to support industry-university partnerships. I have a Master's in Public Health from UC Berkeley and a B.A. in Biological Sciences from UC Santa Barbara. I was also a Peace Corps volunteer (PCV) in Togo, West Africa for three years working on a public health water sanitation project, where I met my husband Bruce, a fellow PCV.
