Susan Fonseca been a member of the Boston College Advancement Office since 2012 and joined NACRO the same year. She was recruited into the BC role specifically to build and lead a corporate relations program for the University. In this role Susan leverages the strengths of BC’s faculty, leadership and senior administration to develop and expand corporate relationships campus-wide. Prior to this role, Susan was a Director in School of Management Center for Corporate Citizenship. Susan joined BC following a long and successful career in consulting that started at Bain & Co. and included a long tenure at Computer Sciences Corporation where she became a partner. Susan earned both a BA and an MBA from Boston College.
From defining and advancing the field of Corporate Relations to codifying best practices across the nation, NACRO has been an invaluable resource to me over the past 6 years. Since 2012, have not only reaped the benefit from but also contributed significantly to the organization in many ways including serving on the Conference Planning and Professional Development committees, as a presenter at Boot Camp, and now as Member-at-Large. The opportunity to serve on the Board this past year has enhance the impact I can have as the organization faces increasing challenges to maintaining its status as the "go-to" resource for professionals in our line of work. This past year, I have invested my talents in aligning our Board of Directors materials with the new Bylaws adopted last summer. At the same time, I continue as a leader to current Chairs on the PD committee building and enhancing the Mastery Series. I am thrilled this year to accept the invitation to lead one of the two Mastery Sessions in 2018. The strength of NACRO is rooted in the strength of its volunteers. I have been privileged to serve in many volunteer roles and hope you will allow me to continue the work we started by serving as Professional Development Chair-elect.
Significant NACRO Contribution
In addition to the knowledge and experience I have shared formally and informally over the years, I was also asked to align Board materials with the new Bylaws, and take on leadership roles in Mastery Series over the past 3 years and contributed meaningfully to PD as committee member.
