Member on the Move - April 2018
Associate Director, Office of Corporate Relations
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Curt Joined NACRO almost immediately upon his first role in corporate relations in 2012 attending the conference at Northwestern. He then joined Marketing in 2013 and over the course of the next couple of years became more involved to the point of working on and then taking on the monthly NACRO Newsletter after the 2016 Midwinter. Curt has been a driver in getting the NACRO working committees to use Slack as a method of communication for nearly all of the working committees and leadership in the past 2 years. Although he has been tagged as Chadley or Slackmaster General, this push to embrace Slack has improved communications within the working groups, with ASD and across committees greatly.
For the past 10 years, Curt has also lead a volunteer effort based out of his church called Car Works: https://tinyurl.com/CarWorksNorthend . This program has provided transportation and automotive assistance to well over 300 individuals in this 10 year period on a very limited volunteer-only basis. Curt will be leaving Illinois and NACRO as of April and will be launching this into a full-time non-profit assistance program as of Aug 1 as a part of a much larger effort to unify many community agencies with similar goals: https://www.northend.cc/partners. Curt’s departure from Illinois and NACRO is bittersweet. We are so grateful for Curt’s leadership in Marketing and NACRO broadly and his long lasting contributions to the future of our organization. He is a great friend and colleague to so many and we wish him well with his new opportunity at his church!
Katheryne Rehberg, Associate Director of Corporate Relations at Illinois, has been working with closely with Curt, Adam Causgrove Chair of the Marketing & Communications and the entire committee over the last year and a half, and has been approved to take on Curt’s role as the Board of Director Marketing & Communications Chair Elect beginning this month. We are excited to welcome Katheryne to the NACRO leadership team!
